National Mutt Day 2018 – July 31 and December 2

The national day was created to raise awareness for mixed breed dogs by Colleen Paige in 2005 who is a Celebrity Pet and Family Lifestyle expert and animal welfare advocate. The day is celebrated twice in a year, on 31st July and 2nd of December. There are almost 80% dogs in the animal shelter near you who belong to a mixed breed and are waiting for you to adopt them. The day is also known as ‘national mixed breed dog day’ and is celebrated all across the United States in order to celebrate and embrace mixed breed dogs.

National Mutt Day
National Mutt Day is celebrated on 31st July and 2nd December of every year.

How to observe it?

The day is to honor, love and save the mixed breed dogs. Adopt a puppy from your nearby animal shelter. If not then donate some dollars in their aid to the local animal shelter. You can also do some volunteer work by spending some time with the puppies in the shelter and giving them extra love. You can walk them around town and take pictures with them. Show the world that they are the same as pure breeds and should be loved and cared for. Post pictures of them on your social media accounts and encourage people to adopt these lovely puppies who are waiting for them in the animal shelters.
