On 3rd of December every year the world observes the day for the disabled known as the International Day for Persons with Disabilities. On this day the individuals around the world aim to make life better for the disabled in their area and around the globe. The day focuses on the issues that are faced by the disabled people and how these issues affect their lives. In order to make life easier and better for the disabled, the United Nation held a decade for the disabled persons. It lasted from 1983 to 1992. At the end of the decade, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 3rd of December as the International Day for the disabled persons. Later in 2008, the name of the day was changed to International Day for Persons with Disabilities. Disabilities are either inherited or result from accidents of certain kinds. Though it takes a part of a personal life and at first the individual loses hope but through motivation and better working conditions, the individual can continue life as a normal person.
How to observe it?
The day is observed differently by different people. Some offer their services to motivate the disabled to live a better life while other work to make the life of the disabled better by implementing certain measures. The day highlights the rights of the disabled and is promoted on social media and other forms of media.
